Does Glass scratch?

Yes, light scratches will occur as time goes by. They do not detract from the overall effect.

Scratches can be serviced in place and polished out or reduced. Very deep scratches (as with any material) are a problem. On site polishing by service personnel is possible.

Range Hoods are sometimes tempered to harden the surface. Thick glass ( 3/4" and greater)does not need such treatment. It does not act like thin 1/4" material.

Glass is very durable and hard.

Clients who have had Glass in place for some years report that they would happily use it again as a countertop material.

What thickness is available?

1/4" , 3/8" , 1/2" , 5/8" , 3/4" , 1" Solid glass (not laminated sheets). We also  have thermoformed fusion glass 1/2" through 5" thick.

What colors can the glass be?

The natural color is slightly green.

Water clear, also called "Starfire" or "Water White", is available. It has very little green color when viewed thru the edge. This is because the Iron is left out in manufacture.

Translucent Colors are produced by tinting the back of the glass.

Opaque colors are produced by adding a special paint coating to the back of the glass. This has a striking effect.

Cutouts and under mount sinks.

We cut glass with a water jet. Any pattern or hole size is possible .Please supply a sink template or company spec for us to use.

The sink must be supported at the cabinet. Kohler makes a bracket for this purpose.

How much overhang or cantilever is possible?

That depends on your layout. It is best to fax your plan and specs to us for a free consult on this subject.

We produce a line of stainless and brass brackets and offsets to support Range Hoods.

Any texture available?

We can etch, sandblast, groove, melt, fuse, and carve patterns into glass.

What size sheets are produced?

11 feet by 7 feet is most quickly available. Longer pieces can be made. Please call and ask.

All the time. We use Air Cushion technology. Insured packing and shipping is available throughout the US.
